  “My liege, I write this as my final report to you. We followed the trail left by Captain Francis, the Black Raven, past the Caribbean seas and past the king’s islands. It was not hard to follow on account of the burning ships in his wake, the admiral did not like the path we had taken but it was necessary. There were no choices left, we have lost many ships to this mad man, and we can no longer afford to lose more. The colonies are suffering from the loss in pilgrims and supplies. Our shipment of skins and other items have resulted in losses untold from this pyrate and his band of thieves. The course we were following was not on any charts set out and our cartographer kept repeating that we will fall over the edge if we were to follow this course. The admiral, as he was known for, decided to ignore the man and kept the course. We did not find other wrecks but there was something with the water. A moment of clarity

  The wind whistled through the trees, making its own melody as it rustled leaves and swayed the top masts. The night was closing in and the day slowly slipping into its cycle of slumber. The creatures that roamed in the shadows woke to start their rituals of hunter and prey, the rivers flowed like they always have carrying the blood of the guilty and innocent alike. Timothy stood at the top of the cliff looking to the horizon, contemplating his past while wondering about the future he did not want. The cold night settled in and the sounds of the forest began, the noises of creatures looking for food and a mate. The crackling of the forest floor, the symphony was intoxicating to the hunter looking for a night to rest. This was his last night alive and he wanted to live it to the fullest.
